Provision Studio owner Margaret Virden, originally from Montgomery, AL, fell in love with Pilates in college, taking classes all four years until she graduated and moved to D.C. She tried many different workout classes during her four years in D.C., but Reformer Pilates always remained her favorite. On weekends she began traveling to New York City to train at Pilates Academy International under world renowned instructors and educators. Margret is now a master instructor on all Pilates apparatuses. She eventually returned to the South to work in Starkville, MS, as a Pilates instructor and would go on to create Accelerate with Lacy Arant, owner of Midtown Pilates. Because Margaret is passionate about helping individuals transform their relationship with exercise and healthy living to find balance in life, she has now opened her own studio in Homewood, AL. Margaret also Co-founded The Onyx Method in 2020, an online movement studio.

Margaret founded Provision Studio in April 2018 to bring Reformer Pilates, Functional Movement, and safe & effective cardio to Birmingham. Lenora Stroupe began taking Pilates & Yoga classes in college and fell in love with the strength and flexibility these exercises created. She is a RYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor and has been practicing yoga for over 8 years. She is also trained on the Bellicon Rebounder and our cardio classes. You will find her on the schedule teaching Accelerate, Bounce & Weights, and Pilates Suspension Method. She works full time as a Senior Financial Analyst and enjoys teaching all types of exercises to help transform the body and get clients to use their muscles to the fullest potential.

Kristy McKinney’s love for people, movement, and fitness are the driving forces behind her being a leader in the health and wellness industry. She has over 15 years of experience as a group exercise & Pilates instructor. She is a Pilates Academy International Pilates Master Instructor, leading education and trainings for aspiring Pilates instructors. She is a Gait Guru and specializes in feet - all the way from foot pain & weakness, to you gait! She has many years of experience teaching various strength training methods to all kinds of age groups and fitness levels (MS, Osteoporosis, Scoliosis) and give great modifications!

Emma Farmer, Birmingham native, discovered Pilates in 2020 and fell in love with the mind-body connection and control challenge it provides. Emma went on to complete her Comprehensive Pilates Certification in early 2021 began to pursue it as her career. Her comprehensive certification includes Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, TRX, Barre, TriggerPoint, and small props.

Emma’s passion for health and wellness grew when she found Provision Studio in Homewood, AL. She fell in love with the science-based, functional, and innovative method of teaching that the studio offers. Emma went on to become a master Pilates instructor under world renowned instructors and educators at the Pilates Academy International. Emma’s passion for helping others find their full movement potential has deepened over the years and she finds immense joy in seeing her clients reach their goals. Emma has received additional certifications throughout her years of teaching, including 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, Pilates Suspension Method Foundations, CoreAlign Foundations, and she teaches Rebounder classes. Emma enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with friends in her free time.

Mary Glenn Draper developed a passion for pilates after discovering pilates in 2021. She fell in love with the multiple facets pilates provides like correcting muscular imbalances, improving posture, coordination, balance, strength and mobility. Her comprehensive certification includes Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, TRX, Barre, Trigger Point, and small props. Mary Glenn loves using her creative outlet through pilates. It is a goal of hers to help clients achieve these goals and help them grow in their health journey! Mary Glenn enjoys singing, painting, and making jewelry in her free time.

Kinsey Humphries found Pilates in 2018 and loves the mind body connection that the discipline emphasizes! She became comprehensively certified in Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, TRX, Barre, Trigger Point, and small props and began teaching Pilates in 2019. She has been with Provision since 2021. Kinsey loves spending time with her husband Clayton, daughter Mary Spencer, and dogs Archie and Riley! She is passionate about food, family, and fun.

Sarah Yandell is a graduate from the University of Alabama. While earning her BA in Communication Studies, with a minor in Nutrition, Sarah taught Pilates at the University Recreation Center. In 2016, she graduated from The Pilates Center's Advanced teacher training program in Boulder, Colorado. Sarah began her Pilates journey in 2008, due to multiple sports related injuries and quickly saw the benefits of Pilates, not only physically, but mentally, as well. Sarah loves the power of movement and believes in the method of Pilates and being able to share that knowledge of precision with her clients.

As a former dancer, Vivian Givhan, is a fan of all types of movement. She has taught barre fitness since 2013, and also has a 200 hour yoga certification. Although Vivian enjoys teaching many types of fitness class, she lately particularly loves the sweaty, fun energy of Bounce & Weights. In Vivian's classes, you can expect high energy, beat-driven playlists and movements with thoughtful, positive cueing. 

Meredith is a graduate of Auburn University and lives with her husband in Birmingham. Meredith has her comprehensive Pilates certification and is certified in Reformer, Mat, Cadillac, Chair, Springboard, TRX, Spine corrector and Ladder Barrel as well as Trigger point myofascial release. After struggling for years to find a workout that worked for her, she discovered Pilates in 2017 and fell in love, deciding to became a certified instructor in 2018. Meredith loves that Pilates works for everyone no matter your age or fitness background. Meredith hopes by attending her classes clients will learn to connect with their body in new and different ways and leave feeling centered and grateful for all our bodies can do!

Lacey Davis is a Birmingham native, but she started her Pilates journey during her 15 years living in Texas.  An avid athlete growing up, Lacey is always looking for ways to keep her body moving but loves how Pilates allows people to remain mobile, strong, and flexible. She is Comprehensively Certified through Balanced Body and has been teaching Pilates for 6 years to people of all ages and fitness levels with a belief that Pilates is for all bodies. Lacey is excited to be back in Birmingham again, and, when not in the studio, she enjoys spending time cooking and baking or being outside with her husband and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Calvin.

After struggling for years, she saw a huge improvement in her back from Pilates and was inspired to begin training to become a Pilates instructor shortly after taking her first class. She is certified in Reformer Pilates and is currently working on completing her Mat certification. When not at the studio you may see her chasing after her two young children in Homewood.

Sierra Awtrey is passionate about helping people stay motivated and reach their fitness goals. She is a former collegiate cross country and track athlete at the university of Montevallo where she obtained a bachelors in exercise science and a minor in business. She has certifications ranging from personal training to nutrition. She has worked in the fitness industry since she was 15 years old! She gained the desire to to train reformer Pilates after her first baby and was amazed at how much she needed it to regain her fitness and get back to living pain free. When she is not training she loves to run, hike, cook and spend time with her sweet babies and husband Luke Awtrey. 

Kathryn first discovered Pilates nearly 20 years ago when it was recommended to her by an Orthopedic Surgeon for her joints and some hyper mobility and stability issues. After some time away due to career, life, and health changes, she returned to Pilates and felt an immediate improvement in her physical and mental health.

In 2016 she decided to change careers to share her passion with others. She is comprehensively trained in Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Springboard, Ladder Barrel and Spine Corrector as well as in TRX, Barre and Trigger Point. Kathryn is excited to share the many benefits of Pilates with all ages and fitness levels.

LeeAnn is a Birmingham native and mother of 4. After going through extensive treatment for breast cancer in 2010 she was left with lingering side effects like joint pain and mobility deficiencies and struggled for over a decade to find a way to stay active and regain her strength. In 2020 she made a decision that it was time to start investing in her health and wondered if Pilates might be helpful. She set up a few private sessions and instantly fell in love. Soon after, LeeAnn decided to make a career change, signed up for instructor training and the rest is history! She is passionate about helping others feel better in their bodies and loves how Pilates is a whole body workout that can be adapted for anyone regardless of their fitness level. LeeAnn is Comprehensively Pilates Certified in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels and also has training in Pilates Suspension Method and the Core Align. She is always searching for ways to expand her knowledge to continue helping the people that cross her path!

Kathleen Davis has been teaching group fitness exercise and Personal Training for nearly 30 years. She received her GF & PT certifications from AFAA, group cycling from Madd Dogg Athletics, Small Group Leadership from SCW Fitness, and most recently, completed a contemporary comprehensive Pilates Training. Over the years she has worked with many different ages and skill sets. Her versatility continues to grow and includes past experiences in Triathlon training, running, racing, boot camps, interval training and weight room training. All of this, and her love of Pilates, adds to a well rounded & balanced perspective to fitness instruction. Kathleen has a passion for helping others learn more about overall fitness, the benefits of Pilates and strives to give safe & well thought out classes to all levels and populations. She is married to Tyler, who she met at Auburn University, and is a proud mother of 3.

Amy McCool grew up dancing and later in life was looking for something similar to fit in her exercise routine. She discovered Pure Barre in 2010 and fell in love with the barre format. Amy went on to become a Pure Barre instructor and owner. After 10+ years teaching barre, she started to see the need to incorporate more resistance training in her routine. She completed her NASM personal training certification in 2019. Amy started teaching our Weights class which incorporates free weights and resistance bands in a class driven by the beat and our Bounce & Weights class incorporating our rebounders with our weights classes. She then completed her Anatomy, Biomechanics, Posture Analysis, Mat, and Reformer Pilates certification and now teaches our Reformer classes as well. Outside of the studio, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, son and golden retriever, Milly.
